Cinemas around Witchford

Cineworld

Ely CB6 2SH, UK – 0871 200 2000

Comfortable seats, plenty of legroom. Brand spanking new so it's all clean and everything works. A pleasant and easy walk from Ely centre.

A very modern, plush Cineworld. Good snacks, good prices, unlimited, and a fair number of screens. Not the biggest, but a good cinema.

The Maltings Cinema

Ship Ln, Ely CB7 4BB, UK – 01353 666388

I went along with a friend with two young children (3 & 6 years) to see The Secret Life of Pets. We had prebooked a picnic lunch for the boys and after collecting it at the door we went to find our seats. There were some large round tables and chairs laid out at the back of the room and then a row of chairs spanning the width. We had taken a picnic blanket, as had many of the families, so we adults sat on the chairs with the boys on the floor in front of us. It worked well but if going again I would take some cushions. The boys lunch was varied and consisted of a ham roll (too much bread), a nice quality cookie, crisps, some fruit and a drink. The drink was an orange drink - high in sugar and colourings - so not ideal. Would be nice if they would consider giving the option of water but if this is a problem for your child you can always take your own and substitute it. Some popcorn would have enhanced the cinema experience and provide a healthy snack but nothing of the ilk available. All in all a cost effective and enjoyable afternoon spend in pleasant surroundings and the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Beautiful building on the edge of the river. I was there for an art exhibition.

Ely Leisure Village

Ely CB6 2SH, UK

Great screens and sound quality with comfortable seating.

This is a new development that has a new cinema, Arbuckles, Frankie and Benny's,KFC, McDonald's,Costa and Pizza Hut. All well laid out with a large free parking area. There is toilets in all outlets but no separate public toilet area. There is ample disabled parking with good access for wheel chair users. There is also a new sports center being built with a large pool that is due to open early 2018. There is no petrol station on site however, there is a BP service station a couple of miles south on the A10 and also a Apple service station north on the A10. There is also no cash points available at the leisure village.
